GIESEN THE BROTHERS MARLBOROUGH CHARDONNAY 2007
TASTING NOTESThe colour is a medium, straw yellow. The bouquet is rich and multi layered with aromas of tropical fruit, nuts and spice. The palate is full bodied with concentrated fruit, subtle oak a lovely textural mid palate with finely balanced acidity and a persistent, full flavoured finish.
WINEMAKING NOTESThis wine is produced from grapes grown in Giesen’s New Renwick Road and Godfrey Road vineyards which produce low yields of high quality Chardonnay year after year. In the winery only pure free run juice was used. The juice was inoculated with yeast in tank then transferred to barrel for fermentation in 45% new oak barrels the rest were 1 year old. The wine completed malolactic fermentation and was matured on yeast lees for 12 months prior to blending. Natural stabilisation occurred over time and no finings or filtration was required to prepare it for bottling in October 2008.
