Lets catch up on some 'orphan' wines

Today we talk less about the varieties than variety.

For as you know, variety is the spice of life. ... If every wine tasted the same, why bother?

... here's one I've been meaning to get to for a couple of weeks, a wonderful little summer wine: the Giesen, 2006 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

This has all the qualities of fine New Zealand sauvignon blanc; it's crisp, refreshing and tasty.  It begins with very prominent peach and grapefruit aromas.  It's a lean wine with lovely citrus, kiwi and grapefruit flavours.  ... it's delightful.
