The Brothers Vineyard - Marlborough
In 2001 a second winery was built in Marlborough to process fruit from vineyards purchased in the region.
The Climate
Marlborough has one of New Zealand's sunniest and driest climates. In summer and autumn warm days and cold, clear nights help keep the acid levels high in the grapes during a long ripening period.
This assists in developing the crisp character intensity of Sauvignon Blanc.
The Soil
The Giesen vineyards in Marlborough are scattered throughout the Wairau Valley. The soils range from shallow and stony to deep sandy loams, each site bringing different characters to the fruit produced.
