Giesen August Range

Giesen The August

Sauvignon Blanc is not a one trick pony and that’s what the boys wanted to prove. The variety has genuine potential to craft wines with complexity, character and ageing potential and The August is made to demonstrate just that. Family underpins the way the Giesen boys conduct business and so the wine is named after the boys’ grandfather August, who was a restaurateur and sommelier in Germany.

Retaining sauvignon blanc character, this is a richer expression of the variety. Concentrated aroma and complexity is derived from a combination of low yielding vines, barrel fermentation kicked off with wild yeast and extended maturation on lees.
